Lina Vella.
Architectural and interior photographer. Sliema, Malta. Working with architects, hoteliers, and interior designers across the Maltese islands, Sicily, and southern Italy.
I started photographing buildings because I trained as an architect and never finished the licensure — the work I cared about was making other people's buildings look the way they felt.
Studio Vella has been one photographer (me, Lina) since 2018. The studio is one camera, one tripod, two strobes, and a Mavic. Work for architects, hoteliers, and interior designers — never property listings, never weddings.
The concierge above is named after my mother, Ana. She used to answer the studio phone. Lina (me) handles shoots and deliveries; Ana is who you talk to first.
What I won't shoot
Three things, briefly.
- Property listings. Different frames from what I make. Tom Borg in Mosta is excellent.
- Weddings. Sarah Cassar in Sliema does this beautifully.
- Stock-library resale. Licence is "your business, anywhere, forever" — resale is a different conversation.
